Let's Talk Color
Do you realize that color is a magical tool and element in your space? The colors you choose can directly affect the look and mood of your space. You can create a calming oasis by choosing a neutral or a monochromatic palette for your space. You could also make your space feel energetic with bold colors or moody with darker layers of color. I believe color is very important and can directly affect one's mood.
It needs to be chosen wisely, but at the same time without hesitation. Look for a starting place by finding something currently in your space that you love! If you're starting fresh, you can find a new pillow, rug, piece of art, or furniture that inspires you and build a color scheme around it.
If you’re feeling trendy one place to start is with the Pantone colors of the year. These colors are usually drawn from the fashion runway. Take a look at how one of the trending colors might look with your existing color scheme and paint an accent wall or two. If you're more timid with color and don’t want to be too trendy you can bring these colors into your space in smaller less expensive bursts. Think table runners, vases, pillows, florals, less expensive rugs or even in live plants.
The colors for 2021 range from earthy and neutral to jewel tones and vibrant hues, almost neon tones. Yellows and greens seem to be trending as well as lilacs, vibrant and pastel blues, earth toned grays and greens, and pink-toned reds. It is always fun to see the upcoming color trends, but I want to encourage you to always choose colors you love. Dare to try something new and have fun with color in your space! Remember that it is not just about how your spaces look, but how you feel and how you want to feel when you're spending time in them.
